From August 19th 2019, Facebook changed its mobile news feed layouts for posts and ads. This means on mobile news feeds ads will display at a 4:5 aspect ratio instead of the previous 2:3 aspect ratio.  There has also been a reduction in text shown, meaning you will now only see three lines of text on ads before users are prompted to “view more” text. 

This means when preparing the copy for your ads, you really need to be mindful that the first three lines need to really have impact.

From a copywriter’s perspective, writing ads will need more skill to get the ad message across in a shorter space.  Punchy bold statements will be the key to getting users to click “view more”.
